Sod & Turf Installation Guide:

Prep soil: kill weeds and grasses with herbicide, remove all debris and large rocks. Add a soil amendment (consult nurseryman*) and till to a depth of 6 to
9 inches. This is the ideal time to install a sprinkler system.

Grade: work soil, smooth and level with a rake. Rolling may be done to firm soil befor installation.

Grade should be about an inch below sidewalks and driveways. Moisten soil lightly before installing sod. Spread a pre-plant fertilizer (consult nurseryman).

Installation: Install your sod immediately after delivery. Start laying sod somewhere along a straight edge such as a sidewalk or driveway. Butt joints tightly together, don't overlap. Stagger joints like rows of bricks. Cut and shape sod around trees and borders with a sharp knife.

Water: It is critical to start watering within 30 minutes even if sod isn't totally installed. This prevents drying and wilting of the tender grass roots.

Roll: Rolling will smooth out any air spaces underneath the sod and give it a more level appearance.

* We recommend Anderson Seed and Garden in Logan, Utah. They can provide the perfect additives for your property needs.

Completely water your new sod to a depth of 6 to 8 inches. Keep your new lawn wet but not soggy during the first 8 to 10 days after installing. Early morning waterings are best.
